Basic Skills Course - What You Get:
This 1-day (8 hour) course includes the following elements of essential knowledge and on-water hard skills development.
- 8 essential strokes - maneuver with confidence!
- 2 assisted re-entry methods (Get back in when you fall out! : )
- Launching and Landing
- Water Safety & Group Travel
- Navigation & Route Planning
- Kayak & Equipment Fundamentals
- Boat Tie-down (Transport Canada Requirements)
- Paddle Canada Basic Skills Certification (upon completion)
Level 1 Skills Course - What You Get:
This 2-day (16 hour) course includes the following elements of essential knowledge acquisition, on-water hard skills development, and an extended paddle planned and executed by YOU.
- 11 essential strokes - move your boat like it's part of you!
- 2 assisted re-entry methods (to rescue or be rescued)
- 2 unassisted re-entry methods (solo - get back in without help)
- Launching and Landing
- Water Safety & Group Travel
- Navigation, Route Planning, and Intro to Tides & Currents
- Weather, Sea-State, and Decision Making
- Kayak & Equipment Fundamentals
- Extended, 1/2-day tour planned & executed by YOU!
- Boat Tie-down (Transport Canada Requirements)
- Paddle Canada Level 1 Skills Certification (upon completion)
